short story

I started thinking about right when I entered the field and how I tripped over my own bag. Then on the second pass my first touch went right to the other team. And how could I forget about that horrendous corner kick that went right to the other corner. mind you we did get a goal off of that because of this amazing kid on our team he's extremely fast and he got there first and then  made a sweet cross. I bet he could even beat me in a race, but that's not the point, the point is that I made the worst corner in D.H.S (Denver high school). Also when i got put on defense People would dribble around me as if I  was on crutches. One  time I got confused so much  even  tripped over my two own legs and the kid was in 8th grade, who was only here because his brothers on the team.
that's it enough thinking I have to move. But I was stopped from getting up by a blur of brown that caught my eye. First thought bear but then i saw the white tail disappearing into the woods.
" Thank you "I screamed to the heavens"Thank you" I whispered to myself
Right then I started taking in everything around me I saw the bird's chirping in the tree's I saw the rabbit's burrowed in the ground, I noticed the squirrel's climbing the tree's. I saw the fish in the creek swimming around i saw the leaves swirling in the water. I felt the eye's of the predators the king's of the Wood's the Bear's and wolves's gaze Bering down upon me.Waiting, just waiting for the prey does that include me, am I prey or am I predator. And that's when i felt it something dark and sinister descending on the wood's. There I could see it's reflection in the creek it's body is humanoid but it's eye's are cold and heartless like they have never seen any love in the world. But there I was something else in there it also held confusion in it's gaze like it's at a loss right now and needs help getting up but does he want it. At that moment i knew who it was it was me.
There was something else in the woods, someone who seemed superior who had the luxuries of life. He his reflection also hit the creek and I could see the humor in his eye's and knew I was in big trouble. I only realized who it was when he said.....
" Alex how's it going my man" Said Tom
"What are you doing here tom" My voice hoarse from sitting in silence for so long.
"Well I came to see if you needed help running away from  something else."
"It's not a joke Tom this is serious" I growled
"If this is so important to you why then why in heck do you keep running" said Tom
And that was it , the question he could never answer, the one he was afraid to ask himself, the one he wasn't sure he wanted the answer to. All he ever knew was that it was easier to run you don't get hurt as badly.Yes, it was easier to run then to get hurt.
        "I..I'm not sure" whispered Alex.
"Well I do, your running for the same reason you always have, your running because your afraid of getting hurt again. But have you ever stopped to think about why you are running, or what your leaving behind, all your friends we would all help you if you just tell us what's up, "k" man we can help "said Tom sincerely
"What reasons do I have for staying I didn't make one good pass that game"I screamed
"That's not the point but if you want talk about how you played think about the perfect cross you made to me or the wall pass you and Alex did. also you practically dribbled through there whole defense."said Tom
"well I lost the ball in the end and you and Alex did most of the work and think about all the times  I messed up, like...."I defended
"See there you go again you keep pointing out the negatives in your game everybody has bad days"interrupted Tom
       "but.... "I said
"Also everybody has some bad plays in every game okay I made tons of bad plays today."interrupted Tom
"But I played completely horrible today" I said
" Okay you played like crap today, but I have seen you play before and I know your great and so does the coach. So Are you coming or am I going to have to walk back to that field alone."Said Tom
In that split second  I choose my fate, I choose the one thing I could never take back.I shoved Tom into the creek and jumped right over it not paying attention to where I was going just feeling free doing the thing I do best through the woods and into the cave. For the first time in my life I felt truly and completely free. It's like  I never saw any of them again like I had traveled far away never to return in those few seconds. I was finally free never to be seen of or heard of again.
When Tom got up and started looking around for me he had found a pile of bones and a deer carcase outside of a cave and instantly new not go in there only years later remembering returning to the field without me did he realize he may have heard a cry of glee come from the cave and wondered if I had seen the bones and been aware of the true king of the woods. But that thought was instantly dispelled when the ball came to his feet and he was playing aging something I may have done if I had listened to Toms advice .But all was to late some choices have been made that can never be taking back.Yet some choices may take something away from you.......                     THE END

This story is a lesson  about choices and ones  that you can quickly decide and one that you should take your time with and ask for help about.

tryouts

There he was staring strait ahead as the ball goes rolling at least 10 feet to the right. He blew it. He knew it before he heard the whistle. He knew it before he heard them snickering. He knew it before he got that reassuring pat on the back. But he didnt want it, not now at least, right now he needed himself. Right now he needed to think. So he ran. It was always his best skill runing. His grandpa had told him that at his first game before he passed away. So that's what he did , he ran. Over the fence down the rodes across the lawns and into the woods. His sanctuary, had been since the first time he got hit. No, he had to keep moving, no need to dwell on those thoughts now, right now he needed to run, he couldn't stay still. There he was, he could see it now, the creek, the cliff the clearing, and there his favorite place the rock, were he has spent half of his life thinking, and that is what he's going to do.
